Launch Pad December 4, 2021

At this point, I’m thinking any new shows won’t start until the new year.

I’m still slogging through Malverde. You can find all my complaints on Twitter @ElCoheteBlog

Also still watching Season 2 of Hercai. They’re slowly building up to revealing all the secrets, but I’m not sure how much more show there is to do that in.

And now Vicente Fernández, too! A very sad week for Mexico.

That’s not surprising, since it looks like that reality is doing badly in the ratings. I was sorry to see Carlos Ponce conducting it, since he’s really talented and should be doing better material.

According to the ratings I looked at via PRODU, Malverde is also tanking with viewers. Telemundo is only getting half the audience that Uni is drawing during primetime.

I’m kind of glad there’s nothing new until then. I finally broke down and got Netflix and am loving all the limited series! It might be a while until I commit to another telenovela on network TV.

And have you decided what to watch first?

The first things I watched were the series “La catedral del mar” and the movie “El silencio de la ciudad blanca”, because both were based on books that I read in Spanish not too long ago. I really liked the series, but the movie was a disappointment. The lead actor was handsome, but short on talent.

I think I’m going to watch “¿Quién mató a Sara?” next, because I love mysteries. My friends also keep telling me that “La casa de papel” is fantastic and a must-see. Are there any series that you think I should watch before they disappear?

Kat, do you think they’ll do multiple seasons of Malverde? That’s a trend I’m really starting to hate.

I hope there’s something that piques my interest in the new year. I miss watching shows with people.
