Launch Pad January 15, 2022

If a look at the Proximas list has left you confused, it’s not you. Univision/Televisa and Netflix/Caracol really are producing dueling Vicente Fernandez bioseries.

Malverde’s in últimas semanas, finally.

Hercai is going back to 1 hour a day on Monday.

I’ll be giving Madre a watch over the weekend.

Kat, do you know why my name is displaying as LindLa, instead of Linda? I can’t figure out how to fix it.

Pablo Montero was cast as don Vicente in the Televisa version.

I’m sticking with Netflix limited series for now. Somehow I can’t seem to get inspired to commit myself to a novela that lasts many months and that might get extended to two hours a night, according to the whim of the networks!

So which ones are you watching? Any recommendations?

I won’t say which shows I’m referring to, to avoid spoilers, but I keep running into plots centering on sex trafficking, which just seem like a pretext to show nude or scantily-clad women in highly sexualized scenes. The only series so far without that was Luis Miguel, which I ended up thoroughly enjoying. I had watched Season 1 on Telemundo and didn’t especially care for it, but I really got into Seasons 2 and 3 on Netflix!

I think I’m still planning to try Café con aroma de mujer.
