Updates
Telemundo’s coming right out and saying they’re putting PdG on as a warm-up for Season 2:
The Nicky Jam bionovela “El Ganador” starts late tonight/early Saturday on Telemundo.
I thought the plot of PdG sounded familiar. I saw the Mexican remake, Fuego en la sangre (2008). Another looooong one: 206 episodes!
I dismissed PdG this time, when I saw that there were 188 episodes. Yikes! I used to watch really long novelas, but now I don’t seem to have patience for anything much above 100 episodes. And I prefer something more like 80.
I hear that! Sometimes I even struggle with 80. I do like the trend of shorter novelas.
I agree, I feel like the shorter ones have a much better pace.
This is on the Proximas list, but I wanted to make sure you know that there is a Pasión de Gavilanes season 2 that Telemundo’s working on, which is likely why they’ve decided to do a rerun of Pasión de Gavilanes in their 1pm spot.
You know, I’ve never seen PdG. I think there’s a “special edition” available on the Peacock app. Special Edition is of course code for “highly edited”, but it’s better than nothing. Or maybe they will make the whole thing available.
For some reason I started watching Triunfo de Amor on the Prende app. Funny how I didn’t recognize how bad it was when I first watched it (it was only my second telenovela.) Wow. It’s not good. Though I still favor the opening credits over other shows I’ve watched since then.
Maybe some shows do better as a heavily edited edition 😀
Well maybe. I tried the first episode and it felt too edited.
