Schedule shenanigans at Telemundo

Starting next week, Parientes a la fuerza is getting moved to 12am. My condolences to anyone who was watching.

And Hercai is coming back with Season 2 on Wednesday! They’ve basically shown in previews that it’s nothing new, but I hope we get answers by the end of it.

Also, Por Amor o Dinero starts Wednesday in place of Casa de las famosos.

This Tuesday is the Gran Final of Diseñando tu amor, which is the only show I’m up to date with. I’m sad to see it end, but the story (so nice to have one!) is coming to a close. So far, I haven’t seen anything to replace it. Contigo sí was supposed to be up next, but they may want to hold on to it and give us more La Rosa de Guadalupe for a while. *eye roll*

I’ve been watching some stuff on Netflix that you might like:

  • Mucho Mucho Amor: the Legend of Walter Mercado – documentary
  • The first season of Control Z – high-stakes high school drama about secrets, with social media playing a significant role. There is a second season, but I kind of needed a breather after the first one!
  • La Venganza de las Juanas – five sisters all named Juana find each other and start searching for their father. Lots of familiar faces in this one: Carlos Ponce, Oka Giner, Renata Notni, Zuria Vega. I’m about halfway through the 10-episode season.
  • Blood & Water – this one’s not Spanish-language, but I’m a sucker for a private school setting. Uniforms = drama? There are two seasons, so far, about South African high school kids dealing with parentification, drugs, sex, child trafficking, and finding out their parents are involved in some serious shit.

Have you seen anything lately I need to check out?

Here’s a new show coming “soon” from Telemundo–La mujer de mi vida:

This article came across my Twitter feed and I feel it speaks to my experiences as a heritage speaker:

Vencer el pasado, the fourth (and last?) installment of the Vencer series starts on Tuesday on Univision, taking the place of Si nos dejan, which ends Monday.
